"A budget is the easiest and smartest thing we can do about our finances, but distinguishing our wants over our needs can make it seem impossible!" _____________ Steven Young, Jr.
I can tell you that after owning several companies in my life time, I still can fall into the trap of plodding along and not taking time out to check my financial map! I do have many client/friends out there who know where every penny went and are hard pressed to spend on anything. They also are the ones that throw an absolute fit when I sell their home and the new buyers want repairs made to bring the home back to normal function! As the ancient saying goes, "In all of life, you must find a balance!"
This month's item of value could be called, "Common Sense." My wife's favorite mantra that finds its way into our conversations when I'm trying to explain why I did what I did. For the most part, life is about choices and so are our finances. Are we putting up savings with each check? Instead of buying the TV or refrigerator on credit, could we put the money aside for a couple of months and pay cash and own it?
Grant it, things like homes and cars require credit, but does everything? I hope this month's item of value gets you thinking of ways to save money, have gratitude for the things you have and be able to decide, "Do I really need something, or do I merely want something," and be ready to accept the responsibility of our choices.
"Oh, by the way, if you know someone wanting to buy or sell a home and save money, I'm never too busy for your referrals!"
